Bryn Vertesi is a young lyric coloratura soprano, presently studying at Miami University in Ohio. She recently sang the role of Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus and Cleopatra in Handel's Giulio Cesare.
This summer, Bryn has been given the opportunity to sing a lead role in the Mozart Festival in Salzburg, Austria. This is much more than a normal singing “gig”, however. The company provides housing, voice lessons, and German language classes to its singers, and is in many ways a conservatory as well as a performance company. This is a tremendous opportunity for her to grow as an artist, and she is very excited to have been selected as a featured singer.
Recently married to operatic bass Campbell Vertesi, Bryn is pursuing her masters in vocal performance with professor Alison Acord. Bryn recently won first place in the Tuesday Musical Association Competition in March and is scheduled to sing Pamina in Miami University's The Magic Flute in the fall of 2007.
This website is a chronicle of her progress in the world of opera. Feel free to follow along and comment in the blog!
