Check it out! Today we're excited to announce the release of our first full-length album: Live from Paris. It's also the official soundtrack for the documentary film Operatic, which is in theaters this weekend. How many classical groups put out live albums anymore? We figured that for a band where the live show is the focus, we'd better have a live album! Go listen to the preview tracks now, and pass it on to your friends!
After a full year of three tours and a recording concert, The Cast is finally releasing our official EPK! This highlight video gives you a sense of what we do and what a concert with us is like.
All of the footage is from our Live CD release concert in Revierton-Studios in Herne, Germany, which was the final show on our NRW Tour. If you have 20 minutes, grab a beer or a hot chocolate, curl up comfy on your own couch and enjoy a private concert with The Cast!
I just finished our biggest and longest show yet with The Cast: 90 minutes of music over the course of four hours!
We were the entertainment for a special opera dinner evening at the Stadthalle (Civic Theater) in Olpe, Germany. It was great performing with not only my Cast-colleagues, but also a very talented group of string players - Kiyondo Ishizaka, You-Bin Yang, Till Mengler and Lea Maria Haas. We shared music from Mozart to Verdi, and from Bizet to Lehár. Take a look at the review of the evening and don't forget to catch the next one in 2015!
Our time in Paris was magical: Three full performances with lively audiences, delicious food and some great hospitality. Though it was a short time we managed to even get in a little sight-seeing on our day off.
By far the highlight was performing in the LÉglise de la Madeleine with composer/conductor Fred Gramann, a choir of 200 people, and The ACP Bronze Ringers to celebrate the 200th anniversary of English speaking worship in Paris. We just got the video so check it out!
Just got off the road from an amazing, whirlwind tour with The Cast. We played to sold out concerts in Hamburg and Berlin - we even had two fans drive to Berlin the next night from Hamburg to see our show again! We finished of the tour with a benefit concert in Bremen. It was great seeing so many familiar faces in the audience.
I'm really looking forward to the upcoming tour in Paris in October! For more information and tickets, visit our website.
Just finished recording a commerical with some of my colleagues from The Cast for Ilias Ntais and Enchoris, an organization providing management software for cultural institutions. We had a lot of fun shooting around Köln/Cologne, and even had to navigate some traffic under the bridge. In the end, they kept the shot with the final car driving by just because it fit so well with the music! Funny how things work out that way.
Music was written by composer and pianist Christina Ntai, with film and production by award-winning filmmaker Jorgos Katsimitsoulias.
Today The Cast received a great review from Ute Vogel, with Die Herbergsmütter. Frau Vogel was a guest at our recording concert in Revierton-Studios and managed to capture some great shots from the audience throughout the show. Thanks again to all of our friends and fans who came out to support!
I will be on tour with the genre-busting opera group The Cast in NRW at the end of June. We will be performing with the talented ladies of string quartet Les Sirènes and the incredible Dimitrij Morosov. If you are in or near the Koeln-Bonn-Herne region come and see us! Reserve your tickets in advance online on The Cast website.
The Verdi Underground event with The Cast was a huge success! We celebrated Verdi's 200th anniversary in style with some of his most beloved hits, as well as a few pieces from his friends ;) I can't believe the show has come and gone. If you missed this amazing and fun event, check out our highlight vidieos on The Cast website!
